Personally I use both when applying makeup but for the long run if you are wanting your makeup to last loose setting powder applied with a powder puff is amazing to keep your makeup looking flawless all night, I tend to bring my pressed powder with me to touch up any creases 😊

Good skincare, primer and setting spray can enhance longevity. Use water based primer and foundations / oil based together rather than mixing

I also apply a thin layer of powder to any oily prone areas before adding my foundation. Also a good setting spray before make up and after make up application helps too (edited)
