I can remember experimenting with makeup in my late teens and early twenties and it looked awful and I felt too nervous to wear it in public. A few years later I began to experiment again and I started wearing makeup in public but always had bold dramatic colours. I did start to get compliments and that built up my confidence. I also had a makeup lesson that helped. Now I feel more confident that I can get the right makeup for the right occasion.
