I’m super pale, but when selecting a foundation I find going for a shade with pink undertones gives me a bit more of a ‘natural,’ tint. I like looking pale, I love the English rose, porcelain skin look. I’ve been colour matched and tried all the different undertones - was colour matched to pink undertones but they tried others just so I could see the effect. I have cool, maybe edging towards neutral, so I know this won’t apply to everyone. However, if you have a skin tone like me and haven’t gone for pink undertoned foundation then I recommend trying it. It changed my makeup look for the better! I even sometimes mix in a pink primer or illuminator if I feel my skin is really having a dull day or the foundation isn’t quite pink enough. I know this all might sound obvious to some, but the amount of pale faced people I’ve spoken to who always just choose the first light shade on the list is incredible. Just because it’s first on the list doesn’t mean it’s the lightest (for some brands) and doesn’t mean it is the best choice for you. Always pay attention to undertones and try something new, you never know where it’ll take you!
