Splurge Vs Save: Advice from a makeup artist on what to invest in and what to save when it comes to makeup buys!
Primer- save. Unless you have problematic skin you don’t need to spend lots of money on a primer
Foundation - splurge. Base makeup is worth spending on
Concealer - splurge. High end brands offer more shades and their concealers are more pigmented
Setting powder - splurge. High end brands have more refined powders and better setting ability
Bronzer - save or splurge depending on your preference. High street brands have many shades in their ranges these days
Blush - save or splurge depending on your preference. If you wear blush everyday it may be worth the splurge
Lip liners / lipsticks - splurge. High end brands such as MAC are more long lasting, offer a range of finishes and shades. Having said that I personally think there’s a lot of long lasting lipsticks in high street brands such as NYX
Lip gloss- save. No matter which brand you purchase it will never last long enough so save your pennies and purchase a high street gloss!
