the undereye area has always been a struggle for me, and for many of us, when it comes to concealer... due to the dreaded creasing.
this tip isnt neccesarily groundbreaking but ive been very surprised how many people arent aware of it!
you NEED to make sure your undereye area is moisturised. a dry undereye makes for lotsss of creases when applying concealer. Moisturise, moisturise, moistureise. ideally use a hydrating eye serum then a moisturiser. Once youve done this, leave it for a few minutes to let it soak in and work its magic. then apply your concealer, leave for a further minute or two and watch it blend like a dream!
Undereye area is really specific and for most of us - problematic!
I think everything goes back to the good skincare routine, we need to prep the skin well before applying makeup.
Remember about good undereye cream but also massage! the skin will be firmer and hydrated.
In terms of the makeup - we need to start with a primer, to prevent creasing! And as someone who has naturally dark circles, I need a colour corrector - I use red under my eyes to cancel purple/green veins.
Then a great concealer is a must have with a setting spray on top :)
In terms of creasing - less is better :)
for a flawless undereye i start off with an eye moisturiser/hydrating primer. i build coverage by first using a dot of my exact concealer shade. Then i go a shade lighter using two dots, this helps me correct dark circles then i use my highlighting shade and set with the slightest touch of lose powder.
when I don't find my favorite shade of matte lipstick; I just put the shiny lipstick of the desired shade and put some loose face powder on the lipstick to make it look matte and this makes the lipstick last longer.
The best option for me is to use dark concealer according to my skin tone under my eyes and then highlight it with light concealer. its best and works really well
My tip is if if you dont have an actual colour corrector to hand, then you can always use a slightly darker/warmer concealer than your own skin shade as an alternative. Then just apply you brightening concealer over
My favourite NARS pro tip was recently learned at one of the masterclasses. Using a fluffy brush, applying enough Laguna Cream Bronzer on the brush and then very gently letting it hug the cheekbones so you can achieve the most natural and perfect sun-kissed look. β
